ABOUT DAVE
Born and raised in the suburbs of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, my love of baseball was forged in the left field general admission seats of Milwaukee County Stadium in the late 80's and early 90's. After chasing homers and foul balls alongside my father for hundreds of games as a fan, my path took an "official" route as I joined the Brewers Grounds Crew at age 17 in 2000.
Dragging the infield, mowing the grass, and running to beer-fueled cheers in the famous Sausage Race (I was usually the Italian, No. 3) was an amazing introduction to working in baseball, but my ultimate dream was in the broadcast booth. That dream first became a reality in 2003, when I landed an internship as the research assistant for Daron Sutton and Bill Schroeder, the TV broadcasters for the Brewers. Six total seasons with the Brewers -- including three splitting time between the field and press box -- paved the way for my entry into Minor League Baseball.
Upon graduation from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in winter 2005, I chased my baseball goals into the corn fields and smoke stacks of Clinton, Iowa. I joined the Clinton LumberKings of the Class-A Midwest League in 2006. Being part of a five-person front office staff in one of the smallest markets in professional baseball was eye-opening, but it gave me valuable hands-on experience in play-by-play broadcasting, writing, public relations, web design, social media, sales, and much more. I spent six seasons honing my craft in Clinton, yearning to move up the ladder of affiliated baseball.
That opportunity came with the Gwinnett Braves in 2012, as I made the jump to Triple-A and the move to Georgia. After starting solely in Public Relations, I added No. 2 broadcaster to my role in 2013. In 2018, I assisted the team's efforts to rebrand as the "Gwinnett Stripers," and just two years later I took over as the second lead play-by-play voice in franchise history. As of 2025, I currently serve a dual role as both the Broadcaster and Manager of Public Relations for the Stripers, the top affiliate of the Atlanta Braves.
A career of over 25 years in pro baseball has provided me a lifetime of memories, highlights, and achievements -- at the top of that list is a Braves' World Series ring in 2021 -- but I'm nowhere near finished with this journey. I believe the best part of this game is that, no matter how many innings you've watched, no matter how many pitches you've called, you've never seen it all.
